August 26, 2013
Dear NFED family and friends,
Because we value you as a key stakeholder for the NFED, we wanted you to know about the recent changes at the NFED.
Judy Woodruff was hired as the Executive Director as a catalyst of change following the retirement of our founder, Mary Kaye Richter. Judy has been successful in creating a new and growing major donor society and in implementing many systems, operations, and infrastructure changes for the organization. Gale Hoedebeck joined us in September of 2011, and was successful in helping to reduce overhead costs, upgrading the financial reporting and accounting system, and improving the human resources functions. Unfortunately, the economic climate continues to provide a challenging environment in which to raise financial resources, as we try to balance maintaining our core programs of family support, treatment and research, with operating costs.
We decided to restructure the foundation, and as of August 30th and September13th respectively, Executive Director Judy Woodruff, and Director of Administration Gale Hoedebeck will no longer be with the organization. They have helped the NFED move forward, and we appreciate their efforts and wish them the best with their future endeavors.
Please rest assured that our mission to empower and connect people touched by ectodermal dysplasias through education, support and research has not changed nor will change. With our dedicated staff, committed Board and Councils, and the passion and participation of our families and friends in our Helping Hands program, we will continue to fulfill our mission.
