National Family Conference
2010 National Family Conference
National Family Conferences are 3-day events typically held in July of each year. The event includes workshops and general sessions led by the physicians and dentists from the NFED Scientific Advisory Council on the various aspects of ectodermal dysplasias including advocacy, research, dental care, dental implants, dermatology, ear, nose, and throat issues, emotional well–being, genetics, insurance issues, nutritional concerns, and pediatric issues. Clinical research and clinical evaluations are typically a part of the conference.
While the parents attend sessions, children are well cared for at the Kids’ Camp. Kids' Camp is held at the hotel and is available at no additional cost for children who are 13 years of age and younger. Activities, games, field trips, and entertainers are planned for the children’s enjoyment.
A full schedule of activities is planned for the teenagers age 14–19.
The NFED offers Family Conference Scholarships to families wishing to attend the national event. These scholarships will help with registration fees and hotel costs. Although preference will be given to families who have never attended a National Family Conference, other families are still encouraged to apply
