How to Request a Matching Gift
Getting your gift matched is usually pretty simple:
- Make your donation to the NFED.
Donate directly to the NFED and keep your confirmation or acknowledgment for your records. - Check your employer’s program.
See if your employer offers matching gifts through your company’s employee benefits or charitable giving portal or by asking your human resources department. - Submit your matching gift request.
Follow your employer’s instructions. You may be asked for information about the NFED and your original donation. - Your employer verifies the gift.
If the NFED needs to confirm your donation or provide additional information, we’ll take care of that part. - Your employer sends the matching contribution to the NFED.
That’s it. You’ve increased the impact of your original gift without making another donation.
