Have you ever wondered how far you walk over the course of three days at the Family Conference? Well, not only have we come up with a way for you to track it, we figured out a way for you to raise money while you do it!
The NFED is hosting Miles & Smiles at the 2011 National Family Conference. This year, we are asking families who are attending the conference to find sponsors in their community – family, friends and area businesses. Sponsors can pledge by the mile or give a straight donation in your honor.
Once you get to the conference, each member of your family will receive a pedometer that you will use to track how far you walk. You should wear the pedometer for the entire conference! All throughout the conference, you can challenge other attendees to see how far they have walked compared to you. If you feel like your numbers look a little low, take a lap around the hotel!
At the end of the conference, you will record the total miles walked on the bottom of your sponsorship form. When you return home, collect all of your pledges and return them to the NFED office.
We are very excited about your participation. If each family attending the conference raises just $50, we will raise more than $5,000. If we reach a little higher and aim for $100 per family, we can raise more than $10,000 in just three days by walking around at the conference. The possibilities are endless!
The family that walks the farthest will win a $100 gift card to Foot Locker so that you can replace those worn out shoes!
Please join us for Miles & Smiles at the 2011 Family Conference – let’s walk for ectodermal dysplasias together!

I never realized how much you can walk during a conference. That was lots of fun
