If you’ve ever been away from home and your loved ones for a while, you know how good it feels to return. Whether it’s been a month or a year, the sense of familiarity remains and it feels like no time has passed at all.

Attending the annual NFED Family Conference is like that. Even if it’s your first time there, you are struck with a sense of welcome and familiarity. There are so many people who look like you (or look like someone you know), and countless moments of connecting with others who know just how you feel.

It’s a powerful experience, and life-altering.

Every year that I attend the conference, I enjoy reconnecting with old friends, but I also get to meet new and interesting people. Being involved with the NFED has inspired me to love myself more and to be an advocate for spreading awareness of the ectodermal dysplasias. Having ectodermal dysplasias is no longer something I keep a secret. I am proud to be part of such an inspiring, supportive, worldwide family as the NFED has become.

I’m looking forward to going home to my NFED family this July. I hope to welcome you there. Click this link to visit the registration page. Deadline for registration is June 23.
